Prince Frederick Animal Hospital was founded in 1981 by Dr. William A. Dorsey, and has operated continuously at its current location since 1981. Our veterinarians and dedicated staff care for all small animals. We have extended office hours, an in-house laboratory, and a pharmacy. We offer a broad range of medical, surgical, and dental services, as well as grooming and boarding. We are fortunate to have an extended network of medical and surgical specialists within the metropolitan area, to whom we can refer pets when necessary.

We have grown from a small practice to employ six veterinarians. Dr. Dorsey sold the hospital to Dr. Nancy Ramsey in 2003, and Dr. Dorsey continues to practice with us. The staff is a diverse group of caring, compassionate, and devoted individuals from our community. They are trained to assist in every aspect of pet care to keep your pet safe and comfortable during their visits.

We are very excited about our expansion of the hospital, to three times its current size, with expanded grooming, boarding, and retail services. The new location is just two miles from our current home, off Rte. 231 on Stafford Rd. The site has been re-zoned to accommodate an animal hospital, the architectural plans are nearly complete, and construction permits are pending. Ground will be broken soon!
